We will learn one more common verb for movement below.

The verb 出 ceot1 means ‘to go out’. We can put it before an activity if we go out or go to another location to do the activity. When we use 出 ceot1, the destination is usually somewhere outside our immediate neighborhood but still within the same city, and it can be reached within one or two hours.

不如旺角食吖。
bat1 jyu4 ceot1 wong6 gok3 sik6 aa1.
Why don’t we go out to Mong Kok [a district in Hong Kong] to eat?
