In Grammar and Vocabulary 13.7, we learned to use the question word 幾耐 gei2 noi6 (‘how long’) to ask for duration.
If we want to ask how long it takes to complete an action, we often use the verb 要 jiu3 (‘to need’) with 幾耐 gei2 noi6. We put the action before 要 jiu3 and 幾耐 gei2 noi6 after 要 jiu3.
| A: | 去屯門要幾耐呀? heoi3 tyun4 mun4 jiu3 gei2 noi6 aa3? How long does it need to go to Tuen Man? |
