Before getting on a taxi, we can ask the driver to open the trunk for us to store luggage or large items.

If our destination requires the taxi to cross the harbor between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, the driver may ask which cross harbor tunnel we want to use. There are three of them: 紅隧 hung4 seoi6 (Hung Hom Tunnel), 東隧 dung1 seoi6 (‘Eastern Tunnel’) and 西隧 sai1 seoi6 (‘Western Tunnel’).

  • We may need to pay a return toll to cover the driver’s cost for using the cross-harbor tunnel to return to where they drove from.
